LexisNexis Redesigns Congressional Interface
LexisNexis (http://www.lexisnexis.com) unveiled its redesigned LexisNexis Congressionalinterface during the recent American Library Association Midwinter Meeting. Improvedfunctionality lets users search across different data sources, such as legislativehistories, published or unpublished hearings, bills, and House and Senate reports, all within a single search. All material in a library's collection—whetherdigital, print, or microfiche—can be searched using one search. This platform lets users search with as little or as much information as they like, using basic search, advanced search, or search by number. Search options can be restricted by date or Congress, as well as full text or only metadata. Enhanced segment searching can pinpoint information by source, subject, title, witness, witness affiliation, or author. LexisNexis Congressional also provides the option of downloading large documents in different sections. Original publications made available through the LexisNexis Congressional Research Digital Collection and U.S. Serial Set Digital Collection are viewable as PDF images. Results for material in print or microfiche form will be returned by publication type and can be sorted by date.
