Kompass Adds Download Feature and New Portal Access
Business information provider Kompass has launched a new download feature for its search engine (http://kompass.co.uk) and a new portal product. Subscribers to the Kompass online service can now refine searches using more than 28 criteria, including location, size, industry type, then export data from the Kompass database of 1.85 million industrial and commercial businesses worldwide to their desktops instantly. Records can be exported as CSV or TXT documents. The site still offers free searching for basic information.Kompass Extranet is a new customized portal to the Kompass database. Accessed through an organization's own intranet, Kompass Extranet is designed for companies that operate from multiple locations and need a number of departments to have access to the information resource. Kompass supplies business data on international markets and some 1.85 million companies in 75 countries via its directories, CDs, and Web site. Since 1944, Kompass has grown from a single directory into a global information provider, used by thousands of buyers, marketers, and businesspeople to find suppliers, research markets, and launch new products. The company is demonstrating the new features at the Online Information exhibition in London, Nov. 30-Dec. 2. Source: Kompass
