Innovative Interfaces Enhances Ebook Discovery
Innovative Interfaces announced the completed integration of the 3M Cloud Library into its Encore discovery solution. Librarians from any type of library can now access ebooks from 3M and local print and electronic collections, all from the Encore interface.Encore offers library users social features, faceted search, and relevancy ranking of search results for ebook discovery, as well as the ability to place holds and check out ebooks. The new “check out with Cloud Library” button lets users download titles from the 3M collection. Users can then access their profile to see a list of their checked-out books and ebooks, when each title is due, and the option to return a title early. 3M Library Systems’ cloud-based e-lending service is designed to help libraries increase their ebook circulation when integrated with a library’s ILS. “Seamless integration with a discovery application is a vital part of helping patrons find and enjoy eBooks,” says Tom Mercer, 3M’s digital library marketing manager. Encore's new features “will keep the process simple.” Source: Innovative Interfaces
