Ingram Acquires Coutts and MyiLibrary

Ingram Industries, Inc. (http://www.ingrambook.com) announced its acquisition of Coutts Information Services (http://www.couttsinfo.com) and its MyiLibrary affiliate, marking Ingram's entry into the academic library supply business. Coutts supplies services to more than 5,000 customers in more than 100 countries.

Coutts is based in the U.K. and has offices in the U.S., Canada, and Holland. The company specializes in book and electronic content supply to academic, government, corporate, public, and institutional library and information sectors. MyiLibrary is an e-book hosting platform that offers access to digital content collections. It is used by academics, researchers, and professionals as a reference tool. Librarians use MyiLibrary to build multipublisher collections of titles in the same way they have done with print publications. The MyiLibrary announcement follows Ingram's recent acquisition of VitalSource Technologies, Inc., a North Carolina-based provider of digital content delivery solutions in education and professional learning environments.

Ingram Industries, Inc., based in Nashville, Tenn., is one of America's largest privately held companies. It consists of diversified businesses in distribution, marine transportation, aggregate supply, and digital fulfillment services. Ingram Industries includes four operating divisions: Ingram Marine Group, Ingram Book Group, Lightning Source, and Ingram Digital Ventures.
