Information Mapping Introduces Word-Based XML Authoring Tool

Information Mapping, Inc. (http://www.infomap.com) has released Content Mapper, a Microsoft Word-based authoring tool that generates XML and integrates with a variety of content management systems (CMSs). The Content Mapper authoring environment is designed to provide "round trip editing" (from Microsoft Word to XML and back again), integration with the most popular CMS solutions, easy metadata tagging, the import of legacy documents, flexible publishing, and high quality XML output.

The company said that anyone who is familiar with Microsoft Word can author, edit, and save XML content without the need for XML technicians. Content Mapper supports emerging industry standard document architectures, like DITA and DocBook, and encourages topic-based content creation, hierarchical organizational structures, and full integration with a number of leading content management systems. Integration with CMS solutions is designed to allow for easy metadata tagging and work flow to support single-source publishing, information reuse, and flexible publishing.Source: Information Mapping, Inc.
