IMLS Fosters Extension of STEM Programs' Reach
IMLS (Institute of Museum and Library Services) provided a nearly $150,000 grant to the Association of Science-Technology Centers (ASTC) in part so it could help seven science centers and museums in California, New York, and Hawaii develop a pilot project for finding new ways to introduce young people in low-income neighborhoods to STEM programs and careers. AmeriCorps VISTA members will study the reach of existing science center STEM programs and identify community organizations that could help attract more low-income youth.For more information, read the press release.
