IMLS Begins Study of Public Library Data Collection
The Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) joined forces with COSLA (Chief Officers of State Library Agencies) to develop Measures That Matter, a project that will examine, evaluate, and map the landscape of data collection for public libraries in the U.S. They will work with library stakeholder groups to create a Library Data and Outcomes Action Plan for a coordinated approach to data collection. Eventually, they will release a framework that has outcomes, outputs, and indictors that consistently and effectively demonstrate the role, value, and impact of public libraries.
