IMLS Awards Service Medal at White House
On June 1, 2016, first lady Michelle Obama and IMLS (Institute of Museum and Library Services) director Kathryn K. Matthew presented the 2016 National Medal for Museum and Library Service to 10 organizations in the East Room of the White House. The museums’ and libraries’ directors participated in the ceremony along with a community member from each honored institution, who shared how it has impacted his or her life.For more information and the list of winners, read the press release.
