IMLS Announces the National Medal for Museum and Library Service Winners

IMLS announced the 2024 recipients of the National Medal for Museum and Library Service. “The National Medal is the nation’s highest honor given to museums and libraries that demonstrate excellence in service to their communities. Since 1994, the award has honored 212 institutions that exemplified extraordinary and innovative approaches to public service,” IMLS notes.

The library recipients are:

Copper Queen Library (Bisbee, Arizona)
DC Public Library (Washington, D.C.)
Griswold Memorial Library (Colrain, Massachusetts)
Harris County Public Library (Houston, Texas)
Kent District Library (Comstock Park, Michigan)

The museum recipients are:

Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum (Tucson, Arizona)
Children’s Museum Houston (Houston, Texas)
Discovery Museum (Acton, Massachusetts)
Louis Armstrong House Museum (Queens, New York)
Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens (Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania)
