IHS, Inc. Files for IPO; Announces Agreement with SAE
IHS, Inc. has filed a registration statement with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) for an initial public offering of up to $350 million of its Class A common stock. The shares are being offered by IHS and certain of its stockholders. Colorado-based IHS provides technical information, decision-support tools, and related services to customers in the energy, defense, aerospace, construction, electronics, and automotive industries.In other news, IHS, Inc. (http://www.ihs.com) and SAE International (http://www.sae.org) announced an agreement to provide improved access to SAE Historical Standards. The Engineering division of IHS will become the exclusive distributor of SAE Historical Aerospace Standards and SAE Historical Ground Vehicle Standards via online or DVD subscriptions—available for the first time in electronic format. The SAE Historical Standards subscription from IHS is continually updated as revised standards are issued; it includes 8,000 SAE standards and material specifications spanning the 1940s to the present.
