HighWire Usage Reports Are Now COUNTER 4-Compliant
Institutional usage reports for hosted publications on the HighWire Press platform now include data complying with Release 4 of the COUNTER Code of Practice for e-Resources. New COUNTER (Counting Online Usage of Networked Electronic Resources) metrics include time-period usage, institutional archive access, journal DOIs (digital object identifiers), and proprietary identifiers.“With this release, HighWire has developed five new COUNTER reports, upgraded seven of our existing reports, updated various user interfaces, and redesigned our data architecture,” says John Sack, HighWire’s founding director and COUNTER international advisory board member. “The revised information and format makes it easier for librarians and publishers to better understand how scholarly materials are being used online.” The five new COUNTER reports include data on the number of successful gold open access (OA) full-text article requests, access denied to full-text articles and content items, and total searches. HighWire also enhanced the performance and layout of its usage reporting tools. Source: HighWire Press
