HighBeam Research, LLC (http://www.highbeam.com) announced that it has launched HighBeam Reference Research, which allows individual researchers to search the Columbia Encyclopedia, as well as more than 25 other reference publications. HighBeam Research (formerly Alacritude) provides an online research engine for individuals that it says fills the gap between free search engines and high-end information services.HighBeam Reference Research provides users with free access to the more than 57,000 articles of the Columbia Encyclopedia as well as subscriber access to articles from other, more specialized encyclopedias, dictionaries, almanacs, a thesaurus, and other reference works. HighBeam Research members can organize, save, share, and publish the information using the product's unique tools. These include saving articles in online folders, sending them to others via e-mail, and importing them directly into Microsoft Office applications. Source: HighBeam Research, LLC
