Hachette and Ingram Acquire Perseus Books Group

Ingram Content Group, Hachette Book Group, and Perseus Books Group entered into an agreement that will allow Hachette to buy Perseus and sell Perseus’ client services businesses to Ingram.

Perseus, which is composed of nine imprints and partnerships with companies such as The Daily Beast, will become a new publishing division of Hachette. Perseus releases about 700 new books each year and has a backlist of 6,000-plus titles.

Ingram will acquire the print and digital distribution services that Perseus provides to more than 400 independent publishers and integrate them with its own Ingram Publisher Services solutions.
