H.W. Wilson Expands Biography Reference Bank
H.W. Wilson has expanded its Biography Reference Bank database with over 14,000 licensed biographical articles, and now covers some 490,000 individuals. Licensing agreements with Oxford University Press bring new, high quality content from some 39 titles.These include Concise Oxford Dictionaries covering literature, theater, music, politics, religion, and mathematics; and Oxford Companions to Shakespeare, philosophy, poetry, and art. Other licensed profiles are drawn from the Oxford Dictionaries of earth science, chemistry, physics, folklore, and sociology. Also included in the expansion of Biography Reference Bank are profiles licensed from James Clarke & Co., from the Encyclopedia of the Middle Ages, and the Encyclopedia of the Early Church. A complete list of source volumes is available at http://www.hwwilson.com. Additionally, some 540 entries from the U.S. Congress' Congressional Directory have been incorporated. Besides in-depth narrative profiles, Biography Reference Bank also offers some 30,000 photographs, and links to more than 175,000 related full-text articles drawn from the complete range of Wilson databases.
