Getty Images Expands Coverage and Partnerships
Getty Images (http://www.gettyimages.com) announced it has expanded its editorial coverage to China and increased its global news content through six new content partnerships: Aurora, CBS Photo Archive, Christian Science Monitor, Focus on Sports, PanAfrican News Agency, and National Geographic. Getty Images is establishing a photo bureau operating in Beijing, with staff and freelance photographers covering China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan. The team, headed by Andrew Wong, formerly with Reuters, has in-depth experience covering news, sports, and entertainment.Getty Images launched its editorial division in July 2001 and says it was the first to move to an all-digital platform, transforming the ways in which the news media work. With the addition of photographers in China, Getty Images employs nearly 100 full-time photojournalists who cover top political, economic, sports, and social events worldwide. Source: Getty Images
