Gale Group Acquires Rights to British Medical Association Journals

Gale Group (http://www.galegroup.com) has acquired online rights to periodicals published by the British Medical Association, significantly expanding health content in Gale databases.

"This is a very important partnership because of the high-quality health content this brings to our databases," said Allen Paschal, Gale Group's CEO. "While we continue to aggressively expand the volume of periodicals in our databases, our first priority is to add only those that are in sync with Gale's high standards for information integrity. The British Medical Association is a great example of reliable, pure, and timely information."

According to the announcement, the British Medical Association is one of the world's most prestigious medical publishers. Gale will provide online access to such titles as Heart, British Journal of Sports Medicine, Journal of Medical Genetics, Occupational and Environmental Medicine, and more than 20 others.

Since January 2000, Gale Group has added approximately 700 new newspapers and magazines to its stable of periodicals. More than 6,500 periodicals are now available through its products. More than 3,000 are full-text.
