Former Presidents and First Ladies Join America250 Initiative as Co-Chairs
The America250 initiative brought on former Presidents George W. Bush and Barack Obama and former first ladies Laura Bush and Michelle Obama to serve as honorary national co-chairs of the organization charged by Congress with planning the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence in 2026. “The participation of these two Presidents and First Ladies in this initiative, who collectively led the country through the first 16 years of the 21st century, shows a continued dedication to service and commitment to their country,” the press release notes.For more information, read the press release.
