Factiva Offers More Tools for Microsoft Office System

Factiva, a Dow Jones & Reuters company, announced the availability of a new suite of solutions for Microsoft Office 2003 and SharePoint Products and Technologies. The new solution pack for Microsoft Office 2003, Windows SharePoint Services, and Microsoft Office SharePoint Portal Server 2003 enables information workers to find, organize, read, and act on business news and information from inside their most-used applications. The new solutions represent the second phase in Factiva's plan to embed its content into the workflow of the Microsoft Office System.

Factiva has released two new Web Parts for SharePoint. Track Web Part allows groups to view news about specific interest areas, while iWorks provides a search tool that uses Factiva's XML platform and extensive indexing to tailor results for information workers. It can also be used in the Office 2003 Research Task Pane. Factiva has also developed a new tool to make it easy for a company's portal administrator to facilitate news delivery into SharePoint Portal Server 2003. And, using Microsoft's embedded Smart Tags, Factiva users can easily get more information about a company directly from any Office 2003 document.
