FIZ Karlsruhe, TIB Hannover Launch GetInfo Service

FIZ Karlsruhe and TIB Hannover have announced the launch of GetInfo, a service that will offer electronic and print publications in all areas of science and technology. GetInfo provides all of today's publication forms, delivery systems, and models of sci-tech specialist literature through a single source.

GetInfo combines library lending; journal article sales; subscription models; free publications from universities, institutes, and companies; and individual literature provision through experienced specialists. Its full-text server supplies digitized documents and convenient search options using the content's bibliographic data. Scientific authors and publishers can submit their documents directly to GetInfo for indexing, online availability, long-term archiving, and marketing. Currently, 50,000 journals can be accessed through the service. Using the GetInfo "Browse eJournals" functionality, customers can conveniently browse the indices of these journals for free.

GetInfo cooperates with national and international universities and research institutions with the purpose of making available technical research literature. This gray literature, which is not readily accessible through commercial bookselling channels, comprises German research reports, papers from universities and research institutions, conference proceedings, dissertations, and relevant preprints and reports.
