Endeca Launches New Version of Enterprise Search Platform

Endeca, a privately held company headquartered in Cambridge, Mass. (http://www.endeca.com), announced the availability of Endeca InFront 4.5, a new version of the company's enterprise search and navigation platform. The company said the new features are designed to improve relevancy, customize the discovery process, and further simplify administration and management. New profile-based dynamic merchandizing lets retailers automatically promote specific products and offers that match the unique characteristics and preferences of each shopper. The product also adds new linguistic capabilities for most popular foreign languages, including French, Italian, German, Spanish, Dutch, Portuguese, and Japanese.

In a recent, in-depth product review of Endeca InFront 4.5, Susan Aldrich, senior vice president of the Patricia Seybold Group, noted, "Endeca's guided navigation is the best we've seen." Aldrich added, "Endeca gives buyers great control over managing their search experiences. Endeca's tools also give developers and merchandisers great control over the buyer experience, providing the analysis, context, and testing to tune search and indexing efficiently."
