Elsevier Acquires bepress

Elsevier acquired bepress, giving the service access to its technology and analytics so it can enhance its offerings and expand to more institutions. bepress will be better able to address institutions’ promotional needs, including preserving their research data and outputs and attracting students, faculty, and grants. Elsevier’s research products—Scopus, SSRN, SciVal, etc.—“will enhance the breadth and quality of the reach, promotion and impact services bepress delivers to its customers,” according to the press release. bepress will help Elsevier drive adoption of its research data management tools. The terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
