EEVL Xtra Searches the Hidden Web

EEVL Xtra (http://www.eevlxtra.ac.uk) is a new free Web service that cross-searches more than 20 different collections relevant to engineering, mathematics, and computing. It includes content from more than 50 publishers and providers. It doesn't just point users to these databases; rather, it " deep mines" them so that users can search them direct from EEVL Xtra.

Databases searched include arXiv, ePrints UK, CISTI, CiteSeer, CSA Hot Topics, Copac, Euclid: Mathematics and Statistics Journals, Wiley Interscience Journals, IoP Electronic Journals, NASA Technical Reports, OneStep Industry News, OneStep Jobs, Pearson Education, Recent Advances in Manufacturing, Zetoc, EEVL Best of the Web, and more. "Extras" on EEVL Xtra include free reports, industry news, tutorials, e-journal searching, and job listings.

EEVL, the Internet guide to engineering, mathematics, and computing, is a U.K.-based, not-for-profit free guide. It was created and is run by a team of information specialists from Heriot Watt University with input from a number of other universities in the U.K., including the University of Birmingham and Cranfield University.
