EBSCO Introduces Hospitality & Tourism Index

Hospitality & Tourism Index (HTI), produced by EBSCO Publishing, is a new bibliographic database that combines the records of three collections: Cornell University's former Hospitality database, previously unavailable for public use; Articles in Hospitality and Tourism (AHT), formerly co-produced by the Universities of Surrey and Oxford Brookes; and the Lodging, Restaurant & Tourism Index (LRTI), formerly produced by Purdue University.

HTI contains more than 440,000 records from 500 titles, with coverage going back to the early 1940s. Sources are both domestic and international in range and scope. EBSCO plans to increase the coverage of periodical literature, conference proceedings, and other non-traditional content.

HTI was designed so researchers can take advantage of the searching and linking technology of the EBSCOhost search engine. Searches can be defined by publication, date, scholarly/peer reviewed content, linked full text, and available references. Index browsing for authors, author-supplied keywords, document type, subject terms, and more are available. The database also provides searchable references for more than 60 core titles, and easy linking to full text, when available. Future enhancements will include a hierarchical journal authority file/publications authority and a Hospitality Thesaurus.
