EBSCO Announces New Sociology Resource

After 2 years of research and development, EBSCO Publishing (http://www.ebsco.com) has introduced SocINDEX and SocINDEX with Full Text. The company claims that SocINDEX, available via EBSCOhost, provides greater depth and breadth of coverage than any other sociology research database available today.

SocINDEX features more than 1,300,000 records with subject headings from a 15,000-term, sociology-specific thesaurus designed by a team of subject experts and lexicographers. This database also contains informative abstracts for more than 620 "core" journals dating as far back as 1895. In addition, the file provides "priority" coverage of more than 500 journals as well as selective coverage of more than 1,070 additional journals. Further, extensive indexing for books, monographs, conference papers, and other sources is included. Searchable cited references are also provided.
