Department of Commerce Launches Data Usability Project

The U.S. Department of Commerce announced the Commerce Data Usability Project (CDUP), which aims to make the department’s data easier to find and use, and to provide the information and tools that make the data accessible and actionable for all users. CDUP is a collection of online tutorials for students, developers, and entrepreneurs that provides the necessary context and code for them to start extracting value from datasets. The tutorials cover topics such as data on hail from the Severe Weather Data Inventory (SWDI), security vulnerability data, and demographic traits.
