DPLA Reminds Educators of Its Resources

The Digital Public Library of America (DPLA) posted a back-to-school themed summary of its recent initiatives. For example, it offers 100 Primary Source Sets with teaching guides that are designed “to adapt into a lesson to complement your curriculum, to inspire student researchers, and to deepen student engagement through inquiry-based analysis,” according to the blog post.

DPLA’s digital exhibitions feature historical topics such as the first transcontinental railroad and the New Deal. Its collection of nearly 14 million items from more than 2,000 institutions “represents a rich and unprecedented mix of local, national, and international cultural heritage that offers nearly unlimited possibilities for exploration.” Additionally, the thousands of titles in the Open eBooks app are free for students whose institutions apply for the aid.

For more information, read the blog post.
