DPLA Moves Forward With Public Library Partnership Project
The Minnesota Digital Library received a grant from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation—as one of the Digital Public Library of America’s (DPLA) four service hubs to get an award—to work on the Public Library Partnership Project (PLPP). The PLPP is tasked with developing a curriculum for teaching basic digitization concepts and skills that will help public library staffers participate in their local digital libraries and the DPLA to create online exhibitions featuring digitized materials.During the PLPP’s first phase, the Minnesota Digital Library offered four digital skills training sessions. During the second phase, the participating organizations will propose projects and select materials from their collections for digitization and metadata preparation by the DPLA.
