Copyright Clearance Center Partners with Vyou
Copyright Clearance Center, Inc. (CCC; http://copyright.com), a licensing agent for text-reproduction rights, and Vyou, Inc. (http://www.vyou.com), a provider of Web-based content-access-management solutions, have announced a partnership that enables publishers and other content owners to license, package, deliver, and protect their online content. Rightslink, CCC's digital rights management solution, will be combined with Vyoufirst, Vyou's content access management solution, to give owners of online text, images, and videostreams a secure point-of-content commerce solution on their Web pages. Publishers can sell original content, grant permission to redistribute content, and sell reprints—all directly from the content itself."Publishers and other copyright holders can outsource burdensome transaction administration while keeping full control of pricing, formatting, terms of use, and the types of media in which their content can be reproduced," said Joseph S. Alen, CCC's president. "Our rights- and transaction-management technology combined with Vyou's asset-protection solution lets content owners build new revenue streams with confidence, by selling valuable intellectual properties they might not otherwise have offered over the Web." Content owners determine whether Web site visitors can view, copy, capture, save, and/or print content, and they control what content, if any, can leave the browser. They can also create highly targeted business models, such as a try-before-you-buy option, to promote sales. Source: Copyright Clearance Center, Inc.
