Congressional Quarterly Acquires Voxant’s Broadcast Transcripts Assets
Congressional Quarterly, Inc. (www.cq.com), a provider of news, analysis, and information on Congress, politics, and public policy, announced the acquisition of Voxant’s broadcast transcripts media assets (http://corp.voxant.com). The acquired transcripts media assets offer verbatim transcripts of programming that appears on CNN, FOX News, MSNBC, and other leading broadcast and cable news shows. The service also produces and distributes select verbatim transcripts of corporate earnings and shareholder relations events and calls.As part of the transaction, CQ is acquiring long-term distribution agreements to provide verbatim newsmaker transcripts to content providers, including the following: The Associated Press, LexisNexis, Dow Jones, Thomson Reuters, FT Profile, Infonautics, Dialog, Bloomberg, NewsEdge, and Westlaw. CQ’s product line includes: CQ Weekly, CQ Today, CQ.com, CQ Homeland Security, CQ Budget Tracker, CQ HealthBeat, CQ MoneyLine, CQ Politics, and Governing magazine. CQ is owned by the Times Publishing Co. of St. Petersburg, Fla., publisher of the St. Petersburg Times and other publications. Voxant, a syndicator of online video content, merged in September with Anystream (http://anystream.com), a provider of digital media production and workflow solutions.
