CCC Adds OCLC Integration to Get It Now
Copyright Clearance Center (CCC)'s academic solution Get It Now will be integrated with OCLC’s interlibrary loan (ILL) fee management service (IFM). Get It Now, which currently has 55 member publishers, will also add five new publishers’ collections: M.E. Sharpe, Human Kinetics, Akadémiai Kiadó, Cognizant Communication Corporation, and World Scientific Publishing Company.Get It Now is used by more than 175 libraries to immediately retrieve full-text articles from unsubscribed journals via ILL. CCC, OCLC, and Atlas Systems partnered to create a new feature in Get It Now: the ability for libraries to pay for Get It Now purchases using their IFM accounts. ILL lending charges and payments can be paid via OCLC invoices using IFM. “This new delivery option originated with input from OCLC members,” says Katie Birch, OCLC’s director of delivery services. “The new option extends the convenience of IFM to purchasing through CCC’s Get It Now service and through other partner sites in the future. This functionality is an example of OCLC’s strategy to broaden its delivery services to include expanded options for buying needed resources instead of borrowing them.” Libraries with Get It Now that have the ILLiad software version 8.4 and the ILLiad 2.0 add-on can integrate their systems with IFM. CCC began a pilot program using libraries from institutions such as Murray State University, Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis, SUNY Geneseo, and SUNY Brockport that will conclude on July 31. CCC will officially launch the new option on Aug. 1. Source: Copyright Clearance Center
