In addition, the company protects domain names and looks for instances of typosquatting (registering a similar domain name with a slight misspelling to get traffic), cybersquatting (registering a company name with the intent of selling it to its rightful owner), company slander, and information spread by disgruntled employees As a subscription-based service, BrandDefense searches for infringements continuously, generating Red Flag Reports monthly, weekly, or even daily, depending on the needs of the client.
