Adam Matthew Will Digitize Shakespearean Prompt Books

Adam Matthew made an agreement with the Folger Shakespeare Library to digitize its entire collection of prompt books (stage managers’ annotated copies, rehearsal copies, and souvenir editions of Shakespeare’s plays) from 1608 to the late 20th century.

The collection is set to be published electronically in fall 2016. It will also include 12 Smock Alley Theatre prompt books from 17th-century Dublin, costume and set designs, portraits, actors’ letters, and playbills.
