Adam Matthew Plans Archive of Advertising-Related Resources

Adam Matthew will work with Duke University to digitize a selection of Duke’s J. Walter Thompson Company archive for publication in 2018. This archive, to be titled J. Walter Thompson: Advertising America, contains documents tracing the history, operations, policies, and accomplishments of one of the world’s oldest advertising firms. Its content will help researchers who are looking into the history of American business and corporate culture, consumer culture, and the advertising industry.
