ASM International Content Available on Knovel
Knovel, a web-based application integrating technical information with analytical and search tools, announced that content from ASM International, The Materials Information Society, including the ASM Handbook series and atlases of fatigue curves and stress-strain curves, is now available on Knovel. In May 2010, the organizations announced a partnership to combine ASM's authoritative materials content with Knovel's optimized search and data analysis features and technical references from more than 70 leading societies and publishers. ASM on Knovel will allow engineers to make better choices when selecting and utilizing materials in their products, projects, and processes. "We made quite a bit of progress since the launch of our partnership, and I can already see the value Knovel adds to our content," said Stan Theobald, managing director of ASM International. "For example, engineers can use interactive graphs to predict material behavior under different conditions-such as, how much stress a material will bear under a range of temperatures over time. This is helpful for material selection and aids in productivity." With a network of more than 36,000 members worldwide, ASM content is used by engineers engaged in materials selection, metal processing, metal working, and failure analysis. ASM provides materials science and engineering professionals with a broad range of authoritative information and knowledge. ASM on Knovel is a premium offering.
