ARL Plans 2017 Fair Use/Fair Dealing Week
The Association of Research Libraries (ARL) announced that Fair Use/Fair Dealing Week will be Feb. 20–24, 2017. This annual celebration of the Fair Use doctrine the in U.S. and the fair dealing policy in Canada and elsewhere was created to spread awareness of and explain the issues surrounding these copyright exceptions and to celebrate successful fair use stories. ARL lists possible ways to celebrate the week—write a blog post or op-ed, host a live panel on campus or at your institution, create a video, or share other resources. Follow the celebrations on Twitter using #fairuseweek (and tag @fairuseweek).For more information, read the press release.
