3M Rolls Out Enhanced Self-Checkout System
3M Library Systems introduced its newly updated 3M SelfCheck QuickConnect Interface, which simplifies the self-service checkout process for patrons. It offers two unique features that are new to public libraries: With Recommended Reads, patrons can get recommendations based on the items they check out, and Patron Promotions helps libraries feature their services and events using banner ads.The Hennepin County Library in Minnesota agreed to install more than 80 new SelfCheck kiosks in its 41 locations by the end of 2014. “Our development team has made significant investments to advance our SelfCheck technology, and are confident that Hennepin County Library patrons will immediately appreciate the added services and improved functionality,” says Matthew Bellamy, 3M Library Systems’ sales and marketing manager. “The simplified interface and new features help optimize traffic and help the library meet the needs of their growing community.” Source: 3M Library Systems
