Newstex Announces BlogAlerts Powered by MuseGlobal
MuseGlobal, Inc. (www.museglobal.com) and Newstex (www.newstex.com) announced the availability of BlogAlerts, a new product designed to deliver blog content to information providers and enterprise customers in a way that adds value without overwhelming users. Powered by technology from MuseGlobal, a provider of search management systems, the new BlogAlerts product complements the existing Newstex Blogs On Demand, the full-text blog service through which Newstex currently delivers blog content to millions of people.
The Newstex BlogAlerts product involves two steps. Enterprise customers first specify topics of interest, from which Newstex generates personalized alerts drawn from the content of millions of scanned blogs. The resulting blog content matches are then further refined by the Newstex NewsRouter system, which automatically tags each blog post in real time with key company names, stock tickers, notable executives, and government officials as well as categorizes each post by topics using a high-precision, relevance-based processing engine. This allows Newstex to deliver the resulting feed of refined blog content in easy-to-integrate NewsML format to downstream redistributors and enterprise customers for use in their respective content offerings.Source: MuseGlobal and Newstex

Groxis (www.groxis.com), known for its visual search and discovery technology in its Grokker search tool, and Thomson Gale (www.gale.com) announced that they have teamed up to provide enhanced search capabilities to Gale’s users of its PowerSearch products—K–12 schools and public and academic libraries. Thomson Gale will incorporate several of Grokker’s key features into PowerSearch, including the ability to run a search on a collection of databases not currently on the PowerSearch platform—library catalogs, other vendors’ reference databases, and Web sites. A beta version is planned for May; the product should launch sometime in the summer.
Grokker is an information management and discovery solution designed to improve the way research-intensive organizations access, explore, organize, and share digital information. Grokker’s core technology includes federated content access and integration, results clustering and dynamic filtering, visual exploration of many results within a single page, and collaboration tools to easily share and exchange information with others.Source: Groxis and Thomson Gale
