Northern Light Launches RecruitingShark.com
Northern Light (http://www.northernlight.com) has introduced RecruitingShark.com (http://www.recruitingshark.com), a new subscription-based online search tool that can identify "passive" candidates for executive recruiters. RecruitingShark provides executive recruiters with access to a custom database of premium sources that are rich in information on passive candidates—those who haven't posted resumes online and are not actively seeking new jobs. The service uses an algorithm that recognizes name, title, and company combinations in a selected subset of premium Northern Light documents to create the specially filtered database.
RecruitingShark allows users to search by keyword, job title, company, date, or individual name and provides information about potential candidates for middle management to executive positions, across all disciplines. Additionally, RecruitingShark offers an archive of information for delving into the job history of a candidate. RecruitingShark supports full Boolean capability (AND, OR, NOT), including parenthetical expressions, in all search forms. There's no limit to the level of nesting in a query.
"Access to quality recruiting talent has become a substantial stumbling block in corporations across America," said David Seuss, CEO of Northern Light. "Not only in the field of technology, but in most areas of business, the recruiting of senior-level employees is a daunting task. RecruitingShark is a tool that streamlines that process and enables executive and corporate recruiters to concentrate less on identification of qualified candidates and more on the actual brokering of a mutually beneficial deal."
The service is available to corporate customers for a flat fee of $24,000 per year for an unlimited number of users, or it can be added to an existing Northern Light enterprise account for $12,000 per year.

DeepCanyon Adds a Panic Button

AOL’s Netscape Netbusiness Launches
America Online (AOL) has announced the launch of Netscape Netbusiness for the small-business community. Netscape Netbusiness provides a free, one-stop home on the Internet to enable owners of small businesses to better manage both their operations and everyday lives—offering easy-to-use and fully customizable information resources, productivity and communications tools, and a free, online presence to reach new customers.
The "Netbusiness Card" enables registered users to create an "online storefront" for free—putting all of the small business' key information on the Internet for other businesses and millions of online consumers. Among the partners providing content to Netscape Netbusiness are ADP, DigitalWork.com, FedEx Corp., inc.com, kinkos.com, MapQuest.com, Monster.com, Network Solutions, Inc., OfficeDepot, Onvia.com, and Powerize, Inc.

Law.com Partners with CourtLink to Offer New Case Information
Law.com has unveiled a new Web service that enables users to monitor recent filings in federal district courts (http://www.law.com). This new service, powered by CourtLink's Web-based CaseStream Litigation Intelligence (http://www.courtlink.com), provides users with a way of keeping up-to-date on litigation activity.
Litigators, researchers, and other legal professionals using Law.com now have instant access to CaseStream's extensive database of information that can be used to aid in case preparation and to stay current with new filings. Users simply click to check the latest U.S. District Court lawsuits in their state, and can then select individual cases and view the complete docket sheet for a small fee.
