LexisNexis Introduces Country Analysis
LexisNexis Academic & Library Solutions (http://www.lexisnexis.com/academic), a member of the LexisNexis Group, has announced the release of LexisNexis Country Analysis, a product that provides news, analysis, in-depth reports, and statistics on 190 countries, including emerging markets in Africa, Asia, and Latin America. LexisNexis Country Analysis was designed with sophisticated subject and industry indexing for searching through more than 300,000 documents for specific country information in an easy-to-use format. LexisNexis Academic & Library Solutions, formerly known as Congressional Information Service, serves the information needs of academia, high schools, and public libraries.
LexisNexis Country Analysis presents information from the following partners:
- Political Risk Service—An analysis of present and future political and economic conditions in more than 85 countries, plus International Country Risk Guides with financial, political, economic, and composite risk ratings for 140 countries

GSI Acquires Collection of Annual Reports
Global Securities Information, Inc. (GSI; http://www.gsionline.com), a provider of SEC filings and related materials to the legal community, announced that it has acquired a collection of over 100,000 annual reports to shareholders from more than 30,000 companies in 106 countries. U.S. companies represent about one-third of the collection. GSI will make this resource available on LIVEDGAR, its Web-based SEC research tool.
All LIVEDGAR users will have access to the entire collection of Annual Reports. They will be available in Adobe PDF as well as in a format that permits full-text searching. GSI will be loading the reports into LIVEDGAR during the fourth quarter of this year and will enable a full-text searching capability in the first quarter of 2003. The company will acquire and add new Annual Reports to Shareholders as they become available. There will be no premium charges for any LIVEDGAR users; all customers will have full access at no additional charge.

Inxight Releases Inxight SmartDiscovery 3.0
Inxight Software, Inc. (http://www.inxight.com) has announced the launch of Inxight SmartDiscovery 3.0, a "complete, powerful, and simple-to-use solution for automating the discovery and delivery of enterprisewide text data in multiple languages." Based on patented and proprietary technology, the new release expands on the company's principal enterprise solution, Inxight MetaText Server. It enables users to easily pinpoint and interact with the exact information they need, including information they didn't know existed.
Inxight SmartDiscovery adds features that include taxonomy management, enterprise-class categorization, and a guided information-retrieval environment. The solution seamlessly integrates with other enterprise systems, such as document management, Web content management, and portals, to offer a platform for analyzing information in precise detail. In addition, it delivers the accurate results that enable organizations to realize return on previous technology investments.
In separate news, Inxight announced that it has raised a $22 million round of Series D financing from venture-capital and corporate sources, led by VantagePoint Venture Partners, a large venture-capital firm based in Silicon Valley. Other participating investors include Reed Elsevier and existing Inxight investors Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein and Deutsche Bank. The company plans to use the latest round of financing to initiate aggressive growth plans, including both internal expansion and strategic market acquisition activities.
