infoUSA Opens Database Access to Small Businesses
infoUSA, a provider of proprietary business and consumer databases and sales and marketing solutions, announced the launch of Sales Genie, its sales lead solution designed exclusively for small businesses and salespeople. For a $250 monthly subscription, infoUSA will provide small businesses access to its database of 250 million individuals and 14 million companies—information previously available only to large companies.
The new turnkey sales solution enables small businesses to generate targeted business and consumer leads via a dedicated computer that is installed at each customer site. Customers will be able to generate leads using several geographic and demographic selects, as well as important metrics, such as business size, number of employees, and credit rating.
infoUSA introduced Sales Genie in Tampa, Fla., at a full-day event in early March, and plans to roll out the product in a similar fashion to other selected markets nationwide over the coming year. The company is also lobbying for an exemption to the federal do-not-call list for businesses with less than 100 employees.
xrefer Adds CIA World Factbook
xrefer, a provider of online ready reference services to academic, public, and corporate libraries, announced that it has integrated the CIA World Factbook into its xreferplus subscription service, adding interactive and exportable data tables to enrich the content.
The CIA World Factbook contains extensive information on all the countries of the world, from Afghanistan to Zimbabwe. With the Factbook in xreferplus, researchers can create customized tables comparing countries on any of over 130 data fields including economic aid, government, labor figures, Internet use, and more. Tables can be sorted online as well as exported and charted for further manipulation. In addition to customizable tables, the Factbook includes browseable information for all countries on topics such as people, government, economy, communications, and transnational issues, along with images of maps and flags.
xreferplus features 1.7 million authoritative, full-text entries that cover a range of subjects. The content is linked by a network of cross references that cut across topics, titles, and publishers, as well as text, image, and sound files.
