EBSCO Adds Political Science Database
EBSCO has added the International Political Science Abstracts (IPSA), produced by the International Political Science Association, which includes current indexing and abstracts of leading journals in political science. This database contains more than 100,000 records from nearly 900 journals published from 1989 to the present. Approximately 8,000 new records are being added to the database yearly.
EBSCOhost's inherent linking capabilities allow subscribing libraries to establish links from citations in IPSA to corresponding full text found in their other EBSCOhost databases as well as e-journal collections. EBSCO Publishing continues to make available niche databases that represent the definitive reference resource for a given area of study. Nearly 150 databases are now offered via the EBSCOhost platform.
The International Political Science Association has agreed to accept, at any time, cancellations to the IPSA print edition, and to refund unexpired portions of subscriptions for those customers seeking access via EBSCOhost.

New Version of DOAJ Now Available
Lund University Libraries has launched phase 2 of the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ; http://www.doaj.org). The new version of DOAJ now includes records at article level and a search functionality allowing users to search articles in potentially all open access journals.
The directory now contains information about more than 1,100 open access journals, i.e., quality controlled scientific and scholarly electronic journals that are freely available on the Web. As of today, 270 of the 1,100 journals are searchable on article level and both numbers are growing. Researchers can now search almost 46,000 articles through the DOAJ and be sure to get access to the articles.
The DOAJ is funded by the Information Program of the Open Society Institute (http://www.osi.hu/infoprogram/) and Lund University Libraries, and supported by SPARC (The Scholarly Publishing and Academic Resources Coalition (http://www.arl.org/sparc) and BIBSAM (the Royal Library of Sweden). Information on how to obtain DOAJ records for use in a library catalog or other service is found at: http://www.doaj.org/articles/questions#metadata.
