New Chemical and Oil Industry News Service

ABC News Provides Video to Thomson Higher Education

ABC News VideoSource (, the footage licensing group for ABC News content, and Thomson Higher Education (, a business of The Thomson Corp., announced that ABC News will provide access to more than 40 years of historic raw footage and video programming. Thomson Higher Education will create DVD, CD-ROM, VHS, Web sites, e-books, podcasts related to the video, and other online-based study aids for teachers and students and will make these materials available for purchase.

ABC News will offer highlights from programs including World News Tonight, Good Morning America, This Week, Primetime Live, 20/20, and Nightline as well as access to numerous ABC News specials. In addition to archived raw footage, ABC News will also provide material from the Associated Press Television News and British Movietone News collections.

Google Launches Blog Search Service

Google has launched a beta of a new Blog Search service; it's available at and Users can search for blog posts, blog names, authors, or a specific date range. Google Blog Search also features Google's SafeSearch technology, giving users control over the content of their search results. Google said it searches all feeds, independent of the blogging platform or hosting provider, and does not give precedence in results to feeds from its own service, Blogger.

Blog Search also syndicates search results as an RSS or Atom feed. Users can subscribe to their search results and view them in their favorite newsreader, thereby automatically receiving the latest results for their query. Google Blog Search is currently available in English as well as Brazilian Portuguese, Dutch, French, German, Italian, Korean, Russian, and Spanish, with additional language support to follow.
