LexisNexis to Integrate FactSet Research Content

LexisNexis (http://www.lexisnexis.com) has signed an exclusive deal with FactSet Research Systems, Inc. (http://www.factset.com), a provider of financial intelligence to the business community. LexisNexis will integrate FactSet content within its LexisNexis Market Intelligence tool and on its flagship LexisNexis research systems.

FactSet's transaction data supports investment banking, management consulting, and professional services customers in identifying new opportunities and conducting in-depth quantitative analysis. LexisNexis said that the new product offering, to be released in the summer of 2006, will make Market Intelligence the first in its class to provide combined litigation and transaction data in one client development product. It will provide integrated access to transaction content covering North America, Asia, and Europe; litigation data; and comprehensive news and business content. Market Intelligence is designed to offer the depth and breadth of decision-support information that firms require today to obtain a comprehensive view of their clients, prospects, and competitors in support of their growth strategies.

With the enhanced LexisNexis Market Intelligence product, users will be able to access detailed, regularly updated information on publicly announced mergers, acquisitions, asset sales, and divestitures involving both public and private companies, the adoption of key anti-takeover devices such as poison pills, as well as initial public offering (IPO) and secondary offering data on U.S. companies. Through the flagship LexisNexis research systems, researchers can access this FactSet content to search for specific deals, review deals for exemplars—ideal examples of agreements that attorneys can use to help formulate their own contract language—or use LexisNexis Alerts to stay current via e-mail updates on new document types, specific companies, or other criteria.
