Serials Solutions Launches Enhanced 360 Services
Serials Solutions (www.serialssolutions.com), a business unit of ProQuest (www.proquest.com), has introduced KnowledgeWorks, a new name for the Serials Solutions knowledgebase, which is the foundation integrated into every one of the Serials Solutions 360 e-resource access, management, and assessment services. The company also has enhanced the 360 MARC Updates OPAC updating service with new features and functionality and has rebranded its AMS Access and Management Service as 360 Core.Enhancements to the 360 MARC Updates OPAC updating service include timesaving features (such as trackable brief records and combined records) and support for new formats (such as ebooks and Unicode UTF-8). By providing customized MARC records for a library’s electronic holdings, the 360 MARC Updates service is designed to keep the OPAC as the authoritative inventory tool for all of the library’s collections. 360 Core is designed to provide a solid foundation on which libraries can build an e-resource collection and offer patrons a single point of entry to all ejournals. Through the A-to-Z Title List, E-Journal Portal, and Journal Linker, 360 Core directs patrons to electronic resources. The Serials Solutions family of services includes 360 Core, 360 Link, 360 Search, 360 MARC Updates, 360 Resource Manager, and the new 360 Counter e-resource assessment service. The foundation of Serials Solutions technology is Serials Solutions KnowledgeWorks. Source: Serials Solutions
