University of Texas Unveils New Library Listserv for Reed Elsevier Customers
The Collections and Information Resources Division of the University of Texas at Austin General Libraries has established a new, unmoderated listserv for current and potential Reed Elsevier customers to share information among the library community. The listserv has no connection to the Reed Elsevier company.The purpose of the listserv is to share collegial, nonproprietary information about Reed Elsevier journals and databases that may be useful in the management of library subscriptions and resources. This should be of interest to those working with Elsevier Science Journals, Science Direct, LEXIS-NEXIS, Cahner's Business Information, Harcourt Academic Ideal, and other related products and services. According to the announcement, the listserv's topics include the changing mix of journals available on Science Direct, what content has been added and/or lost to and from LEXIS-NEXIS Academic Universe, the journals that are available as Web editions, the impact of Reed Elsevier acquisitions and divestitures on libraries, archiving, subscription agents, third-party contents on Science Direct, etc. To subscribe, send an e-mail message to listproc@lists.cc.utexas.edu. Include in the body of the message "subscribe ReedElsCustomers," and your first and last name. Do not include a subject line.
