Tribune Media Spins Off Tribune Publishing

Tribune Media completed the spinoff of Tribune Publishing, its media and marketing solutions division, into its own independent company. For an interim period of up to 2 years, Tribune Publishing will continue its commercial and operational arrangements with Tribune Media.

Tribune Media’s portfolio of television and digital properties, which includes WGN America, provides news, entertainment, and sports programming. Due to the acquisition of local TV holdings, it is now the largest independent broadcaster in the U.S. It also produces content via Tribune Studios and offers a metadata business via Tribune Digital Ventures (TDV).

Tribune Publishing’s portfolio includes 10 daily titles, 60 digital properties, and 150-plus verticals. Additionally, the company operates publications such as the Los Angeles Times, the Chicago Tribune, and Hoy and El Sentinel, the largest Spanish-language newspaper network in the U.S.
