Thomson Names New Dialog President and CEO
Thomson Legal & Regulatory (http://www.tlrg.org) has announced that executive vice president and chief strategy officer Roy M. Martin Jr. has been named president and CEO of Dialog (http://www.dialog.com), a Thomson company. Martin replaces Pat Sommers, who has resigned from the company. (Before Sommers became president and CEO in May, he was COO of Dialog and had previously served as president of Dun & Bradstreet Information Resources.) Dialog was acquired by The Thomson Corp. in May.According to the press release, Martin has concentrated on information services and technology businesses for much of his career. Since 1998, he has been responsible for global strategic initiatives for Thomson Legal & Regulatory. Prior to that, he was executive vice president of West Online Strategic Marketing. Martin also brings sales and marketing operations expertise to Dialog, having served as executive vice president of sales operations both for West Group and Thomson Legal Publishing. Prior to this, Martin led the integration team that planned and executed the combination of publishing businesses that formed Thomson Legal Publishing in 1995. Before joining Thomson in 1993, Martin spent 15 years in the computer systems and software industry. Source: Thomson Legal & Regulatory
