ProQuest Expands Medical Content

ProQuest Information and Learning (http://www.il.proquest.com) announced an agreement to use the MyiLibrary platform (http://www.myilibrary.com) to distribute more than 2,000 medical and health e-books. It also announced an agreement to add scholarly STM journals from Alliance Communications Group (ACG; http://www.acgpublishing.com), the publishing division of Allen Press, Inc.

Beginning immediately, titles including a range of Oxford Textbooks and Oxford Handbooks as well as key titles from Medical Publishers Wiley, Elsevier, Springer, Blackwell, and others will be offered on the MyiLibrary e-book platform. Users can choose to purchase individual medical titles or subscribe to complete collections. Metadata from the books will be loaded onto the ProQuest platform, allowing users to cross-search between information in full-text periodicals on ProQuest and books in the MyiLibrary collection.

ACG is a full-service publisher with more than 65 years experience in producing scholarly and professional publications. Access to ACG titles will be available through a variety of ProQuest's databases, including ProQuest Nursing Journals, ProQuest Medical Library, and ProQuest Science Journals. The agreement between ProQuest and ACG adds 19 journals to ProQuest's

STM content pool and is part of the company's ongoing program to strengthen periodical databases in this area. Free trials are available.
