NewsEdge Announces Partnerships with Portal Providers
NewsEdge Corp., the business e-content and news syndicator (http://www.newsedge.com), has announced joint business development agreements with portal providers Viador, Inc. (http://www.viador.com) and InfoImage (http://www.infoimage.com) that further extend NewsEdge's eContent offerings into business-to-business and business-to-employee portals. These portal providers chose NewsEdge to assist them in developing a suite of modules to be embedded components in personalized portal pages.
Viador and InfoImage will incorporate NewsEdge-delivered, business-focused topics and real-time scrolling news into offerings for their portal customers. Enterprise Information Portal (EIP) users can now make business decisions based on real-time news streamed to a central location from NewsEdge.
Steve Dille, vice president of worldwide marketing at Viador, Inc., said, "NewsEdge's eContent products allow Viador to provide our E-Portal Framework customers with a ‘one-stop' area for news, and fit with our strategy to provide access to critical business applications and information in a user-personalized enterprise information portal."
"InfoImage's partnership with NewsEdge will enhance the decision-making cycle of our customers," said David Duckworth, InfoImage group vice president of channels and alliances. "NewsEdge eContent within an InfoImage freedom portal will alert our customers to important developments that impact their business."
These partnerships build on NewsEdge's existing relationships with previously announced portal partners Plumtree, Hummingbird, and Autonomy. NewsEdge also just announced support for Plumtree's Corporate Portal 4.0 product, which features the Massively Parallel Portal Engine, released by Plumtree Software (http://www.plumtree.com). NewsEdge's highly tailored, targeted business content will be integrated into the Plumtree Corporate Portal as a suite of Plumtree Portal Gadgets, offering joint customers a highly fault-tolerant and scalable portal platform for the enterprisewide delivery of timely content on over 1,500 topics from over 400 information sources.
Similar in appearance to the stock portfolios of consumer portals, Plumtree Portal Gadgets are modular components that embed key information and services from enterprise applications and Internet sites—such as sales leads, industry news, or e-mail messages—in portal pages.
