New dtSearch Product Line Released

dtSearch Corp. ( now shipping the dtSearch text-search-and-retrieval end-user and developerproduct line, version 6.0. This new release adds distributed searchingand other features to improve access to information throughout an organization. The new features also expand the functionality of the dtSearch developercomponent for use with a wide variety of programming languages.

dtSearch products offerinstant-indexed (and slower un-indexed) searching of large document collections, such as word processors, databases, spreadsheets, e-mail, ZIP, XML, andmore. Over 2 dozen full-text search options are offered, and all productsdisplay retrieved files with highlighted hits, along with (for HTML andAdobe PDF) embedded images and links.

FindPlus distributed searchingis a new integrated feature of dtSearch Desktop, dtSearch Web, and dtSearchNetwork that allows a single search request to span everything from localdrives to remote servers. Operating through a single user interface, FindPlusenables indexed searching of files and other data throughout an organization, without the need to collect the data in a monolithic repository. BecauseFindPlus uses an XML-based protocol for exchanging and aggregating searchinformation, developers using the dtSearch Text Retrieval Engine can alsoeasily incorporate this capability into their own applications.
